Pole day at the Indy 500 moving to Sunday? By Jim Gandolf

Pole day at the Indy 500 moving to Sunday? It know don’t who came up with this grand farce of an idea at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway or was it the IndyCar Officials? I feel that the group of people making decisions about the greatest race in the world, but now I am scared that life is slipping away from real tradition over there at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I was reading an article in the USA Today and just stopped breathing over this action and it’s like no one even cares, or people are just to afraid to even comment over the article because something else might change.  I hope when the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corp, makes a change they will take in this thought and make sure the president they put in place passes a physiology test over the balance of how not to mess up the greatest race in the world, called the Indianapolis 500 mile race. I feel that time has offered the greatest fans in the world to create an forum that is only motive is to keep the Indy 500 safe from this kind of drama in that future. I see that we need to bring back the reason that the Indy 500 is so special to so many fans. TRADITION. Now maybe this is just a cry out to see if anyone would respond or if anyone would even care. I have been getting emails over this very subject so I thought I would write about it; because I do love the Indianapolis 500 race. I can’t get negative here because maybe IMS will mess up so bad that Tony George will have to come back into power to save us all. I still think that is the only answer we have at this point. I just thinking; as I was, looking back in time as a young man back in the 1970’s just lying on the hill over on the fourth turn praying for a safe pole day and that the best weather for that day. Pole day meant so much to me back in the day that you had to get inside the track at 5:00am in the morning just to get a grand spot to see the day’s adventure that may lie ahead.  I remember the clouds forming in the air and trying to make race car shapes and drivers images out of the clouds.  The practice session in the morning to see who might have the pole by the end of the day. When; everything in the world meant for your favorite driver, to make the race in a solid position on the starting grid. I remember the sponsors on these cars, and even the colors on the cars. I remember how my heart quit beating as the cars hit the race track at the Greatest Race Track in the World the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I will keep praying that young people have in their heart; the passion I had when I was young, over this great kind of racing.  I want the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to really understand who they hire over there and understand the people that buy tickets to that race track, buy the ticket because of, the fans just love the whole atmosphere over there. I will keep praying that the ones making the decisions over at the Greatest Race Track in the World to be in thoughts of the ones that really believe in that sport. To believe that something might be wrong here,  yes we might have a problem with this action.

I do love that race and that is all I have to say about this subject!
