Advice from whom? By: Jim Gandolf
I was just sitting here dealing with someone asking me advice on a subject. I did not have a problem with the subject area for this bit of advice at all; it was on a subject matter I can handle. I have even dabbled in asking advice to business friends, and just plain out friends of mine. I know from the dawn of time in everyone’s life so far has asked advise, that why we have had newspaper columnist advice sections and proclaimed experts of some area of life like movie critics, book critics, how to do fixer uppers, and people that just think they know everything. If you are getting advice from someone you know, be very careful on how much you trust that person. If you are talking to a relative of yours, what are they going to do with this information? When your family history is not very good from the start, why are you going to get advice from any of them? If you are too embarrassed to talk about this bit of advice to a family as a group; you can pick out that one family member that is the gossip person of the family and they will spread the info like a wild fire. That is for people in need of attention on all levels. I am writing this information about advice because only trust the Lord.
Isaiah 40:28-31
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
1 Chronicles 16:11
Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
If you look to man for any advice on any subject, understand the facts of what you are asking, and first look to the Lord! I am on my way to start a race team, and I am only asking the Lord for guidance. Yes I will have some of the top personnel in that area of expertise on each level of this race team. I have had a lot of people give me bad advice over the years on many subjects. I call that an education on life and move on. Every failure; which I have had many, can turn into a progress of fixing what you have done wrong. I will look to the Lord for my future in everything from this point forward.
