The Indy Grand Prix tickets go on sales today! By: Jim Gandolf
I was sitting here by the second turn of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway today on October 14, 2013 this morning looking at the sun creeping up the aluminum can color of the second turn. The inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis takes the green flag Saturday, May 10, 2014. I think that this is a very good move by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corp., I know that over the years the month of May has almost disappeared in attendance for all the month activities. The actual race of the Indy 500 is still a block buster every year, but I’m discussing the daily action during the month of May. Qualifications, practice days, and just about all of the events that surround the Indy 500; have gone down in numbers. I believe that with the right promotions throughout the city and division of countries and bring back the flag waving fans. I think fans should win some cash this next year, that can be sponsored by local companies, that otherwise wouldn't have the money to sponsor the Indy 500, but would have the funds in promoting the Indianapolis Grand Prix. I would say that the sales team over there should be ready to activate some major campaigns over there; Right? I hope so I love that race track so much that I hope that they can bring in the masses. I think a super team of sales people should have a sponsor for every turn! They have a great deal of time to accomplish this action plan, each turn should be represented by a neighborhood business; car dealer against car dealer; or Wal-Mart against Target; or Kroger against Marsh, or so on. This should be a chance for the city to have fun. IndyCar Series practice for the first Grand Prix of Indianapolis May 8 on the 14-turn, 2.434-mile road course. Practice and qualifying are slated for May 9, with the race the next day.
Race Day reserved seat prices will range from $40 to $75 and existing ticket customers to any 2014 IMS event will get a $10 discount on reserved seats. Race Day general admission tickets are $25.
All seating areas will be general admission Thursday, May 8, and Friday, May 9. Admission is free Thursday and is $20 Friday.

There are 9 townships in Marion County, Indiana Townships, and 14 turns on the road course at Indy. So they could add town names as well, like Speedway, Broad ripple,Meridian
Hills, Beech Grove, and the town of Lawrence. The marketing team over at the IMS should invite community leaders to get their own team of marketing people together. Like the Camber of Commerce, and the Jaycees. Churches that play a major part of that township or town.
I also think banks playing a major part in this action as well. Like the promotional campaign of "the fans of Center township come buy turn 1 for the drawing of your free mortgage, or rent free month! Car dealers that for each township diving away a car for each turn! New or used... Yes they can pay for the right to do this, hello the dealer has co-op money. Restaurants for each township showing off there food. Lets make this an Indianapolis Grand Prix for real.
I also think its time to make this a city wide convention to promote the city of Indianapolis to the world. Make this a major small, and large business awareness and community support ti the citizens of Indianapolis, Indiana to the world. Show the different side of each business within the community. Plus the history of each Township in the county. Each township has a business sponsorship package to promote there part of the city. It's time for major give a ways. The city of Indianapolis needs to partner with the marketing team at the IMS to make this a successful adventure.
